Alex Budak is a UC Berkeley faculty member, social entrepreneur, and the author of BECOMING A CHANGEMAKER. At UC Berkeley, Budak created and teaches the wildly-popular course Becoming a Changemaker, directs the Berkeley Haas Global Access Program, and teaches in Berkeley Executive Education programs. He previously co-founded StartSomeGood, which has helped over 1,200 changemakers in over 50 countries raise millions of dollars to launch and scale new change initiatives. His book, Becoming a Changemaker, has been adopted by universities around the world and his work has been featured in the Washington Post, FastCompany, and Inc. He is a graduate of UCLA and Georgetown University.

Sandhya is the founder and former executive director of the Oakland Peace Center, a collective of 40 organizations working to create equity, access, and dignity as the means of creating peace in Oakland and the Bay Area. An ordained pastor with a master’s in public policy, Sandhya is comfortable in the pulpit, on the picket line, or hanging out with friends and friends-to-be over a good cup of tea and a good story.

Born in Zimbabwe to a Jewish mother and an Italian father, Danny Diliberto believes it was the love for food in his home that helped him grow up understanding the importance of well-prepared food. Quoting Danny, he says “Food was the centre of our home, and I was so blessed to be surrounded by an abundance of beautiful food around me. Reflecting on my past, I believe it was in my childhood years at home that I learnt that good food not only feeds the body, but it feeds the soul too.” He believes that it was this love for food and the hospitality that his home offered to friends and family that attracted him to the restaurant industry, and it was through this work that he eventually founded Ladles of Love. Today through his wonderful organization he can touch millions of peoples’ lives through food.
